A seminar was held for the private sector and related parties about the Medical Tourism cluster in Jordan, where the team presented the results of the medical tourism study. |

In collaboration with EJADA the JNCT conducted a study on the footwear industry. The main objective of this study was to assess the sectors situation and capabilities as this industry could be utilized to export to the USA quota and duty free simulating the garments industry, which achieved high volumes of exports in few years. A seminar was then held for the private sector and the related parties to present the findings of the study. |

| | The JNCT participated in training the Jordan Vision 2020 (JV2020) members on competitiveness concepts during a two-meeting seminars discussing Porter's tools and their applicability to the JV2020's approaches. JNCT participates in various outreach programs to help educate the interested public about the concept of competitiveness. |

and Perspectives in the Wide Horizon' by presenting an overview of

| | JNCT contributed to the 'Joint ESCWA-UNIDO Regional Workshop on the Development of Manufacturing SME Clusters/Networks and Capacity Building' by presenting and discussing the Jordanian experience in building industrial clusters. |
| | Electronic Conference |
| | JNCT participated in the Electronic Conference on Arab Competitiveness (ECAC), which was organized by the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait. The main goal of the ECAC was to foster an open and active dialogue on various aspects of Arab nations' competitiveness. The team succeeded in having four participations out of fourteen articles that were posted on the ECAC website. |

| | JNCT has communicated to other regional countries literature on the concept of competitiveness, and results on the ability of Arab pharmaceutical companies to face future challenges: “Jordan’s experience” by submitting a working paper. The seminar was organized by the Arab Company for Drug Industries and Medical Appliances “ACDIMA” and took place in Tunisia. |

| | Global links to Regional Networks: Improving Trade Logistics in Jordan |
| | On the basis of the above mentioned study, the Competitiveness Unit organized a workshop in collaboration with the World Bank, including all relevant stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, to present the findings and draft recommendations of the study, discuss the main issues requiring the utmost priority, and devise specific and viable action plans, which aim to overcome key obstacles faced in the trade logistics system in Jordan thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Jordanian exports. |
