As part of its campaign to increase the awareness of competitiveness in Jordan, and encourage the introduction of the concept early on in educational programs, JNCT helps establish and host various courses and trainings.

Educational Outreach:

Harvard Business School's Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness has a joint competitiveness program that can be taught with partner universities worldwide.  With the JNCT, as a facilitator role, the University of Jordan's Business School has applied and been accepted to the program, and this course will now be taught to master's level students in the university.

Building Capacity:  

Investing in building the capacities of JNCT members is critical to continuously develop the quality of work. Over the past few years this took place in several ways:

  •  JNCT members attended a tailored training course on “Applying Cluster Method in Development” held by The Economic Competitiveness Group/ California.  The course was based on field visits and practical experiences from California, Arizona and Chihuahua/ Mexico. Read More...
  • Members of the JNCT visited Morocco to gain insight into the Competitiveness Observatory instituted by the World Bank in the Kingdom.  The visit helped with the preparation of background material for the establishment of Jordan's own Competitiveness Observatory, which will be established in a similar fashion, but on the microeconomic level.   • Members of the JNCT participated in the two-day training course 'How to Establish a Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation System.'
  • JNCT members attended 'Competing in a Fast Changing World: Strategies for Success' the tenth annual Conference de Montreal.
  • JNCT members attended the 'Trade, Competitiveness, and the Knowledge Economy' focusing on the Middle East, giving the World Bank's perspective in France.
  • Members of the JNCT participated in the Second Forum of Arab Business Community and WTO Agreements at the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia at the Annual ESCWA Conference in Beirut.
  • JNCT members participated in 'Competitiveness: Key to the SME Development Agenda' in Aqaba.
  • JNCT members attended the WIPO Arab Regional Meeting on Intellectual Property as a Power Tool for Economic Growth in Amman.
  • JNCT members attended, and actively participated, in the OECD-MENA Investment Steering Group Meeting in Amman.
  • JNCT members attended the conference 'Leaders in Dubai' where Prof. Michael Porter gave a lecture on strategy and competitiveness.
